I've found a BX2230 that has a loader, but no mower deck. It has under 300 hours on the meter. They're asking $8200 obo. 1)is that a good price? 2)how hard will it be to find a mower deck?

Anything about that model that I should be concerned with?

You might not know the year, I would say it is a smidge too high.....got a year? NOT that it matters what year it is - 300 aint good and broken in yet!!!

I think if you could get closer to 7K - and see if everything was done at 50 and 200 hours.....

decks will be easy to find but then ones I have seen are $$ - like 1500.....they were in good shape too.

There's no year listed, but tractordata.com says these were only made between '04-06. From what I can tell from a little snooping, this seller just resells them. It's not a dealer or an owner-seller. I'd have no problem going in with a low offer, if I could get my CFO to approve. LOL

I don't know about your neck of the woods, but in Indiana, you will not find a BX with a loader and mower deck for less than $10,000 regardless of hours. They seem to drop down to that number and hit a solid wall. I looked at HUNDREDS of listings for BX's and could not find a better deal. The 2230 may not be quite as nice as the newer units that replaced it feature wise, but it is a rugged solid performer in the areas that really count.

Yeah, if I had my choice, I'd jump on a brand spankin new bx2370, or just settle for the bx1870. LoL! My plan is to replace my aging JD L111 and also get rid of the JD316, so I'll have a one-for-all machine. Wife doesn't see it my way, though.

That seat will cause you to slide out of it. I replaced mine. Sold it last year for $8400, w fel and 54 inch deck and sun shade canopy, 600 hrs.

Not sure if you're aware of Tractor House, but I drool there quite often and use it as a ballpark guide line for tractor pricing.

They currently list 26 BX2230's with prices all over the place. Some with loaders and mowers, some just loaders or others just mowers.

I don't think the $8200 price tag you mention being unreasonable.

I'd go for it and get a 3pt finishing mower. So much nicer to disconnect and not have to wrestle under a tractor.
