I recently purchased a BX2230, and sometimes the HST light comes on, even when the tractor is cold, and I haven't been able to track down where the sensor is located on the transmission. The transmission fluid was changed at the dealer before I bought the machine, and it is showing full on the dipstick.
I have the parts manual, but it doesn't even list an HST sensor, and the wiring diagram shows the sensor and light, but give no clue to where the sensor or the wire that goes to it is located.

Any ideas?

From other sources I read as a result of a google search, it appears the light is for European tractors which came equipped with temperature sensors in the HST.

Apparently the wiring harness is the same, but the sensor is doesn't exist for US models.

Some suggested the wiring connector is located under the seat. The red female connector is the one for the HST temp sensor. It should be close to where the auxiliary lighting circuit is located (hot when key is on). It's likely the wire for the HST Temp is grounded somewhere.

In another thread they stated the wires were blue and black not red.

Hope this helps in some small way.

Did not include the links as I was not certain about linking to another tractor forum.

Thanks for the info. I know I saw the work light wire under the seat and close to it where the harness tees there were a male and female wire outside the harness plugged together. It seems like one of them was black or red.
It wasn't really a big concern since I new it wasn't overheating, I was just curious why sometimes it was off, and other times was on.

A bit more investigation will be done.
I'll post what I figure out.

Well, I found the reason the HST light was on. The blue/white wire under the seat was connected to a black wire that was connected to ground. Once I disconnected them, the HST light went out. Why someone would connect it to make the light on all the time is a mystery, but now I know what that the cause was.
