How do I disassemble a steering cyl. from a BX2200? I have it out, have the inner snap rings out but the end glands will not come out. Any help appreciated. Customer waiting!

Actually, the wire rings are what hold the glands in the barrel. With the barrel in a vice (just snugly) put the end of a pin punch into the end of the rod and tap shaft into your barrel. The piston on the center of the shaft will push out the gland. Pull the shaft out of your barrel. Use a piece of pipe or piece of broom handle thru the barrel and tap out the other gland.

Thanks guys. I got it out but the SOB fought me every inch of the way! Took a brass drift and a 3# hammer. Still haven't got the opposite gland out. Will try a press. I think I can get the seals in the tough end without removing it from the barrel. I don't know about anybody else, but I've been rebuilding hyd. cyls for 50 years. I get my seals from Hercules Sealing Products in Clearwater, FL. Great selection, both SAE and Metric and great prices.
