All,

I just recently purchased a used BX2200 from 2000/2001. I'm not sure the seat belt work properly. It keeps squeezing me tighter and tighter and after 5 minutes of work I have to unhook it. It makes this seatbelt useless.

Any tips?

replace it, , it shouldn't lock unless it is at an odd angle ( compared to tractor being level on it's wheels )

I replace them all the time on forklifts for this reason, the retractor catch spring weight has probably fallen off.

DO NOT repair a seat belt retractor, you can't guarantee it will work when it really needs too.

Absolute ditto!!!

Never try to "repair" safety equipment! Always replace it!

Does anyone know where where can i purchase a replacement seatbelt for an L39? Thanks
In my opinion I would only use a Kubota seat belt. I wouldn't chance a aftermarket because the life you save may be your own.

Some times I will think about trying to cut corners on things like this but then I think about this. My son and wife use this tractor and is saving a few buck worth putting their life on the line? Not to me it ain't.

I think you'll be safe buying an aftermarket seatbelt. I'd get one made for a tractor and not a vehicle. Most people are not aware that seatbelts are rated at 10,000lbs, yeah I said 5 tons of weight. I learned this when I was a wrecker driver a number of years ago and used to recover cars and trucks that were in the woods or upside down on the roof. Sometimes the only thing I could find to hook to was a seatbelt. But we had to take a knife and cut the belt incase someone wanted to rebuild a salvaged car, they'd have to replace the belt as well.
