The mower deck height control knob is missing from my tractor so I've no clue where the top/lock setting should be. The rod that the knob was on turns easily. My question is... which direction do I turn the rod to raise and lock the MMM arms at their top most setting? The owners manual doesnt say. I've turned the rod to the right 6 or 7 revolutions and there is no stopping point. It just continues to turn. Will it stop? Will it screw all the way in and stop if I keep turning? Am I turning it the wrong direction OR do I have a new problem?

The reason for the question is I installed a BXpanded skid pan and want it locked in place. I dont have a MMM for this tractor.

I turn mine counter clockwise and no, there is no stopping point, just work your way up through the different settings until you get the right one. Send an email to Messicks and they will send you an exploded parts diagram, so you can see if any parts are missing and order a new knob.

Thanks, TripleR. I noticed when I was turning the rod it seemed like I felt clicks. Is that normal?

The knob goes from Top down in 1/2" increments down from 4" to 0". The arrow sticker is on Top right now in this picture and is oriented towards the rear of the tractor. Rotate clockwise until you stop, and then move the 3-pt up and go another click. Keep doing this until the mower lowers to the ground. That is 0" Raise the 3pt and turn counter-clockwise and it should hold in its most UP position.

Thanks, Gary..... That helps alot.....I've been using the tractor this morning moving some heavy things around with the FEL. I added shims to the relief valve yesterday and pick the pressure up from 1750 psi to a tic over 2000. It definately raises more weight now but is still a little weak on the bucket roll function.

I moved a Miller Bobcat welder this morning that the tractor would not raise before shimming the relief valve. I've read that people have shimmed their tractors to 2000 and not had any issues going that high.

Thanks everyone....I got it figured out.

Out of curiosity I went and plundered around in the barn of the previous owner of the tractor and found the knob on a shelf!!

No clue why it was not on the tractor but it fits snugly and turns the rod.

I find turning has to go clockwise. I just now happened to have mine off now and if you go by clock, the flat faces about 7:30, but they aline with a line between 4 and 10 o-clock. The knob aligned with "top" when I removed it. I find I have to raise the arms to full height before making any changes.

Those darn things are often kind of finicky, when my 2200 was new I could turn it either way. Somehow the whole assembly fell out and I replaced it now it has to go counter clockwise, not sure about the 2660 as I never use it.

I had the same issue with a BX2200 I just bought; knob was missing. I talked to the dealer and was told that the knobs break when people try to force it. I found that the engine needs to be running and the hydraulic lever needs to be in the full up positin before turning the knob. Mine moves in steps as previously described. When you don't have the mower deck attached, the control needs to be in the TOP position to protect the undercarriage.

PS: I bought a new knob for about $4. Part number: K2561-44430. Looks like a knob to me, but they call it a 'Cam Dial'.
