BX2200 Changing Transmission fluid

I posted a question about my power steering with alot of play it was suggested I change my fluid and filter, and that there could be an air pocket in the system. Just wanted to know when I change the fluid and filter if I will still have to bleed the system and how to go about doing that?

Re: BX2200 Changing Transmission fluid

Hello Kingjmatyas and no I have never had to bleed air out of the HST since SUDT is heavier than air it forces all the air to the case vent to Atmosphere. ;) But you do want to change the HST filter and fill back the amount that you drained out and compare it with the fluid table in the ops manual for confirmation. So change the filter, fill with fresh SuperUDT to the middle of the range marks on the dip stick, set the brake, start the tractor in neutral under no load for five minutes while looking for leaks, shut off, pull the dipstick and see if the level has dropped which it should the exact amount the new filter took. If not and the level is not above the full mark down to or between the (middle) between the add and full marks on the dip stick you are fine for operation. Run it a couple hours and check again making sure you can absolutely see the correct level because the fluid against the dip stick metal is had to see so look for the wet level on the stick in bright light. The worst thing you can do is guess at it. Make sure you see and feel it. Mission accomplished :)
