BX winter prep

Last winter I had 2 occurrences of a fuel filter gel up with the BX23S and I want to avoid that this season. Which is in everyone's opinion the route to take, run fuel additives or mix up a blend of kero/diesel for winter operations?

I'm not sure how things work in PA but here in WA in the fall the stations begin selling winterized diesel. You could ask your local fuel supplier if they sell winterized diesel. Of course if you're using the same supply you've been using all summer you won't have the winterized diesel on hand at home.

X2 on checking when your supplier winterizes diesel. Use up your summer diesel now.
I use up my summer supply, and as a precaution use Power Service Winter additive over the winter. Years ago I got stuck with unwinterized fuel and I cut it with 10% kerosene, which worked fine in the relatively mild climate I live in (rarely lower than 15 deg f).

I've been using anti-gel additives since '91 or so and have used different brands. Never had a problem with mine.
