Picked up a 2011 BX1860 a few months ago. Main use will be mowing once the landscape is finished and maintaining the 300 foot driveway and eventually snow removal once I’m not working out of town so much.
Finally got some time to build a few things. First project was a drawbar for moving the trailer around the yard easily. Pretty straight forward. Made it so it will be quick hitch compatible in the future. Might add some tow hooks or shackle mounts in the future as well.
Second project was a set of front weights. I spent about $65 in total for the steel and a hot plate. I am melting down lead wheel weights and filling five steel boxes (4”x10”x6”). You can see one next to the hot plate. Once full I will weld on the cover which can be seen mounted on the weight bracket in the photos. The top and bottom are made up of 1/4”x4”x10” plate. Weight of the empty box is about 15lb without the handles that will be on the top. Packing weights in I can get about 22lb of lead. Melting them down and pouring the lead and metal clips I am up to 48lb of lead. I may run out of lead wheel weights so I am filling them all to about 45ish pounds until I source more wheel weights. If I can’t find more I will top them off with sand and weld on the covers and be in the 60-65lb range each. If I can source more wheel weights I will be in the 80-85lb range from rough calculations.
I will update once I finish the project.
