BX Radiator Service

My BX2360 has factory antifreeze at 6 years and 320 hours.

Guess I've been remiss there...and intend to do that this spring. All looks fine, but should be done.

How have you BX guys drained the radiator....the Clamp/Cap at the bottom of the Radiator, or just pulled a hose?

I pull the lower radiator hose, as all of the Kubota machines I have owned had the flimsy plastic drains that are known to break.

+1. Besides, with the lower hose, you get it all out. Kubota's have the have the most flimsy drain plugs ever made.

Is it possible to replace the plastic drain plug with a metal one from the auto parts store? Any recommendations as to what the best antifreeze would be for the replacement? Thoughts on running a flush solution through the system before refilling? thanks

Using a bolt could introduce dissimilar metal problems, leaking, or corrosion in general. If it had to be replaced, I personally would get the OEM drain plug.
As far as coolant, opinions vary. I use a 5 year interval HOAT coolant (Zerex G05). My last 4 Kubotas came with standard green coolant (2 year interval). When switching coolant types a thorough flush is highly recommended.
