I won a BX 42s wood chipper at auction paid $450 and another $325 to have it shipped. I picked it up from the freight terminal today and bolted it all together and mounted it on my B26 which has 19hp at the pto. I had just enough daylight out to run a few branches through it. First impression was very good. It had no problem with anything up to 2”. I sent a 3” branch through and It stalled out the tractor but I believe the problem was it got jammed up from a side branch. So when I put it to its paces this weekend I’ll keep the saw close and just nip the smaller branches off before sending the larger pieces through. :cool:

If you have a cordless hackzall or sawzall with a pruning blade just clip them and no issue as they fold in as it is pulling through. Easier on you and the chipper plus no branches to pick up. Yes I am a bit lazy ***55357;***56832;

yeah its a great chipper.

it will do a good job on your tractor as long as you avoid getting jammed by side limbs & NO LEAVES!!

teh cordless chainsaw is a great thing to toss on the chipper for this type of stuff. i do it too.

PS: on a little bigger HP PTO tractor this chipper just breaks the limbs off & pulls it right on thru.. you got a really good deal!! :D

So I got about 4 hrs of use on the chipper today and I have to say it does much better than expected. I was able to send 3" branches with limbs and the chipper ate it up. I was a bit concerned that my PTO HP wasn't going to be enough but I didn't run into any issues with it all day.
