Evening ladies and gents I have a Kubota BX 1850 and I seem to have a slow leak from the rear hydraulic reservoir. I have wiped it clean many times to check if its the seal on the near PTO shaft and that is not the case. it looks like the gasket seal is leaking where the two pieces mount together. I pointed to the general area in the one picture with a screwdriver. I am trying to figure out what my options are here besides just refilling it and dealing with a slow leak. Id like to get it patched up but I fear that means draining the whole reservoir and unbolting it. What would i be getting into? It looks more complex than just those two front bolts. Any assistance would be appreciated.

OH yea a lot more complicated that just a couple bolts.
You would need to split the tractor, remove the HST, then remove the case, reseal and reassembly.
Have you tried tightening the bolts closest to the leak?

Yes those bolts are very tight and I fear its the gasket seal that has given way. I can try again to see if I can get just a bit more out of them. Maybe i just let it slow leak and keep a pan under it always :(

Don't over tighten them.
