Buying L3560HSTC-LE

Hey Everyone! new member here....
I am looking to replace my Massey 135 (1974) with an L3560. This is the deal my dealer has given me and I wonder if it is comparable to what most people are paying. I have never purchased a new tractor so I am not sure what price to expect. Here are the details:
L3560HSTC-LE - $38,599.00
LA 555 Loader w/66" QA Bucket - $6370.00 ($7360.00 if I decide on LA805)
Tire Ballast - $883.00
R4 tire Upgrade - $809
Kubota and Dealer Discount of $600
Tractor/Loader/Tire Upgrade/Ballast in Tires = $46,061.00
No Delivery Charge
PDI Prep - $195

What are your thoughts? If I build this in Kubota, it comes out to $43,700 without ballast in tires. Thats pretty close in price, but should I expect it to be under the Build your kubota price? Thanks for the insight...... I know it is hard to compare, but has anyone purchased a very similar build lately? I would love to know what people are paying. Thanks!

It should match or slightly better the build my Kubota price I think. Did you have R4s in your build price?

My maths says you should be getting $43,700 + $809 for R4 tires, plus $883 for ballast, plus $195 for PDI. $45,600 or thereabouts. So they're $500 high.

Did you look at the equine discount? Free to join the cutting horse association, worth about $1000 in discount at the moment.

Is there something else in their list that might not be in the build price? If not, then my process would be to tell them you'd sort of expect a bit better than the online build price. Then after you negotiate that, ask about the equine discount - that's a Kubota discount so it costs them nothing, but doing it in the other order may get you less.

Are you sure the L3560 is available? I'm hearing people talk about back orders.

Lastly.....replacing a 135? Surely you'd be getting another tractor alongside it, nobody would sell a 135.

It's been about 2 years (Sept '21) but when I bought my LX with the equine discount it was out the door ( RimGuard and sales tax) exactly 10% under MSRP. It was a order rather than a dealer stock sale not sure if that made much difference or not. Of the 3 dealers around me it was almost $7k between the low and high deal.

What are you planning on doing with your tractor? Is it heavy lifting where the higher capacity loader will be beneficial? Is it tillage work or working in mud where R-1 tires would be better? I see you are in Texas, you really don’t need anything more than water in your tires for ballast. Sure you loose a little bit of weight versus using something like beat juice or rim guard. At the prices you got from the dealer, I would get at least one more quote, even if it is a dealer a ways away so that you can see if the first quote is a reasonable one.

I will second BAP on the loader. I think you would prefer the LA805 loader over the LA555.

Seems a bit high to me. I have 3560 LE ROPs, not cab, and love it. I'd definitely recommend the 805 FEL. If you need it now and it's in stock that's probably worth paying a bit more. If it's not in stock or you can wait a bit, you might save some money shopping around at other dealers.

Great info thanks!! Regarding the 135, bad wording, will definitely be keeping it. Probably will end up being strictly a shredding tractor. This dealer has several stores and does have one in stock, but it has an L555 FEL on it. He assures me he should be able to get whatever I want in a timely manner. Will look into the equine discount. The equine discount is listed under discounts on the Kubota website - so it's Kubota funded not dealer.

Your discount of $600 looks low, should be $1,200 by the looks. That could be the difference to the build site.

A lot depends on the location of the dealer. When I was shopping for mine the prices were a range as much as $2,000 difference depending on the state (not including the tax difference).

I got my L3560HST-LE with LA805 loader, HD bucket, 3rd function valve, duel rear remote, top/tilt, rear window defrost, loaded R4, mirrors, BB1572 Box scraper, and LR1672 land rake for
$43,490 before tax.

It did take 14 months from the time I ordered until I had both tractor and loader.

You definitely should join the cutting horse assn. (free), and save yourself $1,000.

Most of the dealers around this area are all the same company. There is one about 3 hours away I will send the build to and see what they say.

You have to either pay the full rate, finance it somewhere else or pay cash. 2). in 2021 or 2022 Kubota clipped the wings of the discount. It used to be 20% off now it's just $x number of dollars off and no where near as good of a deal as it used to be....

I’d go with the larger loader for sure. About a 2% price increase overall is well worth it.

Yes, but OP was already talking about cash discount, so I assume paying cash. Therefore the equine discount is money for jam.

This dealer has the 5 shops that are closest to me. I reached out to another and havent heard back yet, and a dealer 3 hours away doesnt have the tractor so its hard to compare. He didnt know how long it would be if he ordered one. Trying to sell me on a cabbed mx5400 for less $.

I believe that many of the features on the L60 series can be added to the MX series. The one big difference between the two is the HST+ transmission. Since I only have experience with the HST+ I can't say if the money difference is worth the cost. I will say the HST+ is a very nice transmission, put so is the Ford F250 King Ranch vs the F250 XLT, but is it worth the cost difference? (Can you tell I have been drooling over some trucks)

I am not sure of significance of the spec / capability difference between the 2 machines. I don’t think you could go wrong with either, but I personally am biased towards an MX (although I’ve not owned a GL yet…I drooled on a couple though).

MX may be a good buy. Worth considering, specially with a cab. The Grand L has some good features, but if they're features you never had before you may not miss them.
