buying decison B vs. LX

All good points here, I traded up from a bx2380, I managed to keep our 400ft driveway and parking area clean with pretty much a FEL. I've just had our first snow clean-up this season with the lx, I'm going to tackle this year with the FEL and 72" rear blade, your going to love the R-14 tires in snow if that is what it comes with, excellent traction compared to the R4's. Pushing with a full bucket, medium range in 4 wheel and no spinning.

It really is interesting the varied experiences and highlights the real need to really get an "arse in seat" or at least hands on the models you are looking at. Interweb research hits a point of diminishing returns.

Poster above feels the B2601 has a tight operator station for anyone over 5 1/2' tall with some girth where on the other hand I'm 6' and 190lbs and find the B2601 plenty roomy and comfy. Another poster recommends R14s for snow when plowing/pushing while myself and another poster have had good experiences with R4 Turfs in snow. The nuance for me being I'm blowing snow not pushing and dragging a 5' rear blade uphill with no issues.

So at some point, it really comes down to your specific application right?

Are you referring to R3 turfs, or R4 industrials?
My experience using new R4's vs new R3 turfs, on the same tractor, was the R3 turfs were noticeably better on snow. Better on grass too, especially on side hills where the R4's had a tendency to slip sideways.

I'm committed to buying in 2020 because of current financing and other incentives so I need to look at current inventory only. In my market area, therer is only 1 available LX2610-SU and 1 available B2601. I got quotes on both outfitted the same and the LX is actually very slightly cheaper. I've decided to go that route.

I wish i could afford something i the L series but they are in short supply and a bit too much $.

At this point I can NOT afford a blower or even a front blade. I've done OK with FEL bucket on mt Fords.

I will definitely count on adding chains.

Can anybody comment on value of that used 1989 L2850 with FEL and a scaper box I asked about? owner is asking $13,500.

If you ever decide to buy a blower for that look into the pull types, they're great if you don't have the option of a front mount because you don't have to go in reverse the whole time. I actually prefer pull types to a front mount on an open station tractor because you hardly ever get snow on you even if it's windy.
