Bush Hog too close to rear wheels

I have a speeco QH and find the top link QH all but useless for 90% of my attachments and I have to use the pin on connector. Anybody else have this issue?

Well, if you weren't curious I might have left the QH off all summer.

I only bought the QH15 because it was $450 at the dealership in Sheridan where I bought the M6060. The local dealership wanted $695 for a QH10. I bought a QH10 from them a little over a year ago for $483 so it didn't feel right paying so much more this time around. To be honest, I don't like the QH15 adjustable top hook although I understand the concept. I've never had a problem with the QH10 on either MX hooking up to a Land Pride rotary cutter, Land Pride snow blower, Land Pride rear blade, EA box blade, EA land leveler or King Kutter trailer receiver.

I took a look at a picture of your mower. If you put a pin in the clevis hitch pointing toward the center the arms would be more perpendicular to the rear axle thus they would move the mower away from the tires.

A second question. Are you setting the stabilizer bars correctly? If the mower is moving to much side to side it would also hit the tires.

I don't know about the Speeco but I knew the QH15 was a POS design. The top hook is secured with two clevis pins that have tiny retention clips to keep the pins in place. This morning I needed to move some big logs using the grapple, and in the process of unhooking the RCR1884 noticed that one pin was AWOL and the other pin was hanging on with the help of dust. The retention clip for that pin was also AWOL. This obviously happened while cutting the field yesterday afternoon. I'm going to buy some grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers and bolt the bloody hook in place.

I did the same thing. Funny thing was I've never used the adjustment. All of my implements are newer Land Pride ones.

Yeah. I've never had a problem with the QH10 that has a fixed top hook so I'll fix this one in place with some good nuts and Loctite.
