I wasn't sure where I should have posted this. Mods feel free to move if need be.

The u-joint on the outer shaft of my little Squealer 142 lost a clip holding a bearing cup and the cup came out of the yoke. Before the clipper was shut down the cross beat the inside of the yoke up pretty bad. This is an Italian style #4 series yoke with a roll pin keeping it on the shaft.

I've gotten the roll pin out of the yoke with no problem. Will getting the yoke off the shaft just be a matter of heating the yoke and knocking it off?

I've done a number of u-joints before but never replaced a yoke......

Thanks,

EH

I just removed the shaft off my prehistoric mower, suprised i found a snap ring inside the yoke to retain pto on input shaft. I guess bolt also serves as a shear pin, and snap ring prevents pto shaft from flying off.
