Hi everybody, newby here Gary in Indiana. Been lurking for awhile. I'm waiting on a used BX2360 ( my first Kubota only 57 hrs) The tractor has a 60" deck, box grader and the dealer is installing a new f.e.l. and ag tires before delivery. I can't hardly wait. I really have no need for the belly mower but I do need a bush hog. I've got yard cutting covered with my old faithful 1973 cub cadet. My question is what size bush hog do you guys use on your 23 or so horse power tractors? I'd like to get a 60" but I'm thinking that a 48" is more realistic. I've always used a larger HP farmall for the heavy stuff and power was never an issue. I traded it in on my soon to come kubota.:D

First off WELCOME, and I think your going to find the 2360 is a little beast. Im not real sure about the brush hog I know some guys will run a bigger one but I have been told that about the with of your back end so a 48 would be a the cats azz, Remember that you only have about 18 hp at the PTO so that will limit the size of your hog too, so you will have to slow down your ground speed and keep the RPMS up so you can maintain the cutter. OH and dont think that 60 inch mower wont cut field brush I use mine through black berries and wild rosses it takes a couple of passes but then you aint runnin a 50 hp tractor either. Ues the gal slowly untill you get the feel for her, and it will supprise you

I use a 48" on our BX2200 and BX2660, they "might" spin a 5', but the weight can be a problem and I won't even try one.

Like skeets, I have cut some pretty gnarly stuff with my MMM.

I ran a light weight 60" on a L245 for many years, it was almost too much weight for it (2wd), but it pull it just fine. I have more hours mowing on that rig than any other.

I'd say 48" on the BX, but I really do not like a 48" hog.

My mom's L245 runs a 48 in rotary mower no problem. I think a 60 in would be a bit too much in your case.

Rule of thumb is 5 horse power per foot. So with 18 pto horse power ideally 4 foot is all you'd want.

I run a 48" TSC cutter on my 2360 and find it to be the right fit anything bigger and you will find the front end bouncing around. I tried a friends 60" and did not like the way it handled behind the 2360 so got the 48". I also like the way I can cut around the trees in my back woods with the smaller deck. Have fun with your new tractor and don't be afraid to work her hard you will be amazed at what this subcom. can do. I also got the unit with the single back wheel as the two wheeled unit did not look like it would back down into brush as well.

I found just what I was looking for yesterday. TSC had a craigslist add saying this has been in inventory for a few years and has to go $500 OBO. I was standing at the door when they opened. So I offered $300 and what do you know, they took my offer. It didn't look this good though. I took the lift assembly off and wire wheeled and sanded the whole thing. Then I shot on some kubota orange and sanded and painted the lift parts and reassembled. I couldn't be more happy with my new bush hog.( I know it ain't no Bush Hog.) And I know what you're saying about onetail wheel versus two. Threw the years I've had both on my 504 farmall. I didn't have any choice but I would think the exrta ground contact would make things a little more stable.
