Got a question regarding the bucket float position on my joystick loader control.

When I put it into float position on the detent when back dragging, it will pop out of the detent when the bucket encounters resistance, then the loader does not seem to keep the same amount of gravity induced down pressure. If I keep my hand on the lever and hold it in the detent it does just fine.

My question is: What is causing the lever to pop out of the detent?

This is a near new L3400 with only 60 hrs on it and little of that is loader time so I'm really not inclined to think it's wear in the detent. This is different from all other machines I've used have had a very definite float position that stayed locked in until you manually took it out.

The "stay in float" is my experience as well on all the tractors I've owned.

With that few hours on it, there should be a warranty issue to be addressed. It may be as simple as an adjustment. But whatever it is, the dealer should handle it.

Dito!

Every spool valve I've had (5) with float detent has stayed in the detent position until I took it out. Clearly either a warranty issue or "special feature" only Kubota has.

Does your tractor joystick control work directly on the valve, or is there several feet of linkage between stick and valve? Maybe an adjustment of linkage, if there is linkage.

Unfortunately it won't be warranty. I recently bought this like new L3400 that was garage kept for 6 years and only had 57 hours on it.
