Hi all,

Had an issue during reinstall of the BT603 backhoe tonight resulting a mounting bolt from the base of the joystick to its controlling arm to break

The part appears to be a bolt with a ball end that goes into a socket of the control rod/cable and the other end which is screwed/embedded into the base of the joystick. (B1, B2, B4)

The break occured on the dipperstick/bucket lever (right if operating the backhoe) for the up/down function. (B5)

May be a unique issue...fixing might require buying more than just the bolt, perhaps it comes embedded in a new joystick? I am not sure if I can get the ball end out of the socket of the control rod/cable either. Trying my best to explain what these parts look and sound like to me, so correcting me on what these parts are is also desired! Would like to find out if there are part numbers here for me to give it a go before the last resort of going to the dealer.

Thanks all.

No bolt there, it's a threaded stud... all one piece. It's called a heim joint or a rod end bearing. Your dealer or a hardware store may have them on the shelf. If not, McMaster Carr is a great choice for next day service. You'll have to get that broken piece out of the black block the joystick is welded to with an easy out or a left handed drill bit.

Look at ball joint linkages towards the bottom of the page.

Thank you to both of you. You guys are right on, looks like both methods can work. I looked up the Messick's pdf you referenced and it is definitely 70/70.1 in the diagram, and the part number replaces a part that is compatible with the BT603.

Part# 75532-62262
Replaces the BT-603 Part# 7K530-71180

Thanks so much, ordering this to try!
