I recently came across a pretty good deal on a RCF3672 brush hog. This thing is definitely a beast. My tractor is a L4060 HST with cab. Landpride says HP rating for the brush hog is 60-190 HP. Would my tractor handle this good, or should I look at a lighter duty unit? Thank you!

I have an L4400 which is about 43 HP and about 37 at the PTO. My Bush Hog 286 - 72 inch is no problem. Weighs in at about 942 lbs and manual wants minimum of 40 hp. Never had a problem, never run hot.

The one your looking at weighs in about 400 lbs more.

Your tractor puts out 32.5 hp at the PTO. That's a hair over half the minimum recommended hp for that brush cutter. Lighter duty would be very advisable.

land pride 1872 chain guards & slip clutch would be a better fit.

I certainly would not recommend it.

I think you have enough power to turn it for lighter cutting, but not for it's full capacity.
Check your owner's manual for the weight, though. I'm thinking that's well above Kubota's recommendation.

I run a LP 2596 cutter on L4060HSTC. Mostly flat or slightly hilly ground with some hills. With the small tires of the L4060 I tend to go slower than some because I don't like the bouncing when going fast. I have had no trouble cutting grass and weeds on roads and fields, and it is MUCH better than my light duty 6 footer. With loaded tires and loader on I'm at nearly 6500 lbs. It has no trouble with the 1380 lb cutter. Sometimes I run semi-mount but usually I keep it 3-point. I don't think you'd have trouble with a heavy duty 6 footer. But just my 0 cents.
