Any of you guys running a FEL mounted brush cutter like this? http://lanesharkusa.com/ Interested in something like this to cut around ponds, fence rows, and to cut back brush on wood lines..

Check out this Stoney Ridge farm Video channel, he did a couple videos on that unit with the company at his farm, and they go through it pretty fully

Probably costs a few bucks but looks pretty cool

I have looked at this mower in the past, and decided on a 3 point verge flail mower that moves out beyond the rear tires, and pivots up 90 deg and down 60 deg or so. Full disclosure.... I haven't bought one yet, but am looking hard at the Peruzzo Fox and Elk 60 inch flails.

You will need a HEAVY tractor to use that thing .

That brought up my next question.. the dealer said you needed a minimum of 9 GPM hydraulic output. Not sure what my tractor is capable of (2017 L4701 not HST)

I'm not a hydraulic guy, but the L4701 lists 7.8 gpm pump capacity. I don't know if that means overall, to operate the hst, or out a rear remote. Regardless, sounds like it needs more flow than the L4701 provides.

Neither enough tractor nor enough flow.

I've been looking at the Lane Shark products pretty heavily the last week or so. No way I could buy one now, but just dreaming right now. While the larger model requires a 3,000 lb tractor and 8.5 GPM, the smaller one only requires a 2,000 lb tractor and 5 GPM. Maybe one day I can get one.
