Of course you know now that it has a face you have to name it.

I have a suggestion that I did to mine... it makes a little basket. Fill in the bottom like this: (not solid, use the mesh wire) I put a chain there when I need it...
Excellent idea! Plus I have left over expanded metal
Thanks!

I am looking to do the same on my L2501. Well, maybe not the face. My tractor is 120 miles away and I didn‘t get a chance to look close (used a mirror instead of climbing under). For the bolts holding the grill frame to the tractor frame are the nuts welded to the back plate?

In the mirror it appeared I could see small welds holding them to the plate.

Thanks in advance!

The nuts are permanently attached. I actually don't remember looking at them, I just know only the bolts come out.

Scotup, I should have pointed this out, your lower plate is missing. The dealer left it off, just like they did mine and many others here. I had to go back to my dealer and they ended up ordering me a new plate. You need it to protect your tie rod ends. So, go tell them to give you your plate.

Nicfin36 thanks for the confirmation! That will make it a simpler off/on as no need to get a wrench on the back nut.

I like Old and Tired’s basket idea, too!

Old and Tired thanks for that added piece of information. Is there any particular thickness of expanded metal I should use?

Used Old and Tired’s advice and used a strap on the FEL to support weight of grill while removing it earlier today. FYI - I have braces to lock FEL in upright position so it can’t fall or bleed off while working under it.

Worked great. My neighbor, who welds, want to do it so I will be letting him have some fun.

Nicfin36, Thanks for the heads up on the front tie rod bumper. Went to my dealer today and they gave one to me.

Good to hear. The plate is really important.

Check your front axle oil too, if you have not. All too many have been sent out without oil. Mine only had 1 quart or so.
