Good morning OTT, I know we have some gun owners here and I wanted to share a recent experience I had with my 5 year old Browning 300 WSM X-Bolt.
Went to remove from safe one night for my hunt the next morning and noticed the stock was sticky, it is a Dura Touch stock. Thought this was strange as I never wipe the stock with solvent and only use Rem oil on metal parts.
Over next few days hunting it got worse and worse......
researched online and a found many owners of same rifle saw similar problem and mixed reviews on if Browning would repair gun this old.
Called Browning and after a 5 minute discussion was pleased, yes they will repair. Only cost is for shipment to Browning.
They did say it would take 6 to 8 months to strip and re-coat stock as they are back logged. They recognized a problem with the formulation of the coating and are standing behind the Browning name and want satisfied customers.
The short of it they will repair the rifle, cost to me shipping, 6-8 months turn time. You will have to remove your scope and mounts, sling, tripod, etc.
Give them a call if you have a similar problem and get the ball rolling.
Have a great day and mine will be in mail this week.
