broken mower lift arm

Has anyone ever broken the mower lift arm on a BX2360? If so how did you break it?
I just broke mine and cannot figure out how it broke. I don't see any other damage to the mower deck or anywhere under the tractor.

Here are the pictures you requested.
I have got a new one on order. I just wanted to know so I don't make the same mistake again.
If someone has experienced this maybe they could shed some light on what I could do to keep this from happening again.

It looks like there is some corrosion in there, so it does not appear to have broken in one shot. If the metal looks polished would be fatigue but I can not tell from the picture. Its possible that the part might have been cracked from new. There will be other opinions.
