Here's something to ponder. Manufacturing practices are pretty much similar throughout the industry. By that I mean little diesels are manufactured the same way as big ones.
Now when a contractor buys a new piece of equipment (any brand), your going to tell me that they will follow the 50 hr rule. Doubt it. They purchased that machine to make money from day one. The operator gets on it and away we go.
I'm not saying not to follow the 50 hr rule, it's just that it seems odd they want us to "baby" our machines for that period when the contractor (big or small) don't/won't. And that same contractor won't tolerate down time.
Like I said, just something to think about.
