My BX has been running rough after a few minutes of use. Replaced filters and nothing drained from rear fuel line. Blew air back into the tank and it began to drain. Ran fine for a while then starting running rough again. I Ordered the Boyd Inspection Plate and a racor type fuel filter. The instructions from Boyd call for the holes to be drilled with a .201 bit which is hard to come by. Several threads about the install all say the enlarged the holes but no one mentions what size bit they used. If you have installed a Boyd plate do you remember what size drill bit you used?

TIA

.201 would be a number 7 .

McMaster—Carr sells individual drill bits should you decide to go that route.

I know I can find it, but all the write ups and YT videos say they used a larger bit. Even the screws in the kit are larger than that.

Never heard of these before, but used a DIY plate on the diesel tank of my generator recently. See below. I read the instructions on the Boyd site and they say to use a .201 MIN bit. Can't see that it's super critical for holes that #10 screws are to pass through.

13/64" is .203" I can"t imagine that .002" larger is a problem, especially when hand drilling where hole size can vary quite a bit.

Are you sure all the filters between the fuel tank and the injection pump are clean? As I understand it there may be one hidden away somewhere near the tank outlet and a second one after a lift pump.
