New to Kubota life with a used 1870.
I purchased a 40 acre woodlot that was logged over a few years ago. Due to gaining access issues, the previous owner had a dirt road punched in to gain access to the top section.
Between the rain and the elk, the road gets rutted up quite a bit.
My 1870 came with a 48” rear blade. I tried it out for smoothing the road but it wouldn’t get a good bite.
I took a chance on a 54” box scraper and just got it mounted this morning.
Went up just to play around a bit and after some adjustment was able to get the front blade taking a decent bite.
Didn’t have any rippers down and want to wait for it to dry some before I really get after it.
First impressions are the box scraper will be the better of the two for doing what I want.
