Box Blade

I have a B2601. I’m considering buying a box blade. They have a 48 inch one and a 54 inch one. Which should I buy? The bigger one is only $27 more. I’ll be using it on my gravel driveway to work on potholes, and leveling my yard.

You're going to want something to just cover the width of the tires. I don't know the 2601, but I suspect it's about 5ft wide. I would go with the wider version. Even 60 or 66" if you could find it. I have a 72" box for my 3901, which *I think* has the same frame.

I would tell you to go for the larger one - but be careful, make small bites!

what he said, i always run out of traction before i run out of power (23s with a 54"BB), thats 6" wider than my machine

I'd go with the 54. Got a 60 inch one with the B2601. Haven't given it a real good go yet but did take out some of the settled in stuff on the uphill side of one of our trails. Did well.

I agree. Get the BB05/BB12 with 54" width. Although land planes or land levelers are better for gravel driveways, and some have a rear flap that enable them to work more like a box blade when needed.

I have a Land Pride BB1260 60 inch for my B2620 and I have pics posted here of the hills I box blade UP with no issue.
Your B2601 will handle a 60 but a 54 will also cover your tire tracks and be easier to pull if you are taking real aggressive cuts.

54" for sure... my little BX 2680 pulls my 60" easily full of gravel in 4x4. Dirt may be a different story but then you can take smaller bites, but with that 54" you have nothing to worry about. Just sayin..

Box blade size is somewhat dependent on your terrain as well as your tractor width. If you have steep areas to maintain, you need to consider the traction factor on a slope.
