Have a big section of my property that doesn’t drain water well. Some of the property was neglected for while. Lots of roots and rocks that’s I’ve been getting rid of. A lot of it is in even. I pretty much have an acre to clear. The old grass pretty much peels, and it’s wet clay underneath.
My question is, will a box blade be enough? Tractor is a BX23S.

If it does not drain well consider a sub soiler, use of a sub soiler should significantly help with drainage. Not expensive if you have a TSC anywhere near you. Watch a couple of videos on you tube about sub soiling to establish drainage.

What is your goal for this area. If you share your goal we can comment on the use of a box blade.

I’ll get some better pictures tomorrow. Easier to explain then what my plans are. I was planning on installing a French drain to help the drainage.

As you can see, the grass isn’t the best. I’m in need of a French drain. The tall grass pretty rocky and uneven, which is why I haven’t mowed it. I pretty much need to level out the whole acre. It’s the front portion of the property that has draining issues. Luckily the back section is sloped, so I’ll have to run a 100’ French drain to help. Eventually I’ll have a garage, outdoor fire pit and most likely a pool. This project will take me years. Not a rushed thing as I’m 28.

Your original post was is a box blade enough, I think the answer depends on your plan for the ground, if I understand correctly you want to level things out and then just keep it grass? If this is the case I would buy clean top soil and fill the low spots. this can be achieved better with just your front bucket and maybe a rear rake.

If your plan is to level off the high spots with a box blade I would suggest that the result might not be so pretty as the grass will come off in lumps and chunks. If you had a tiller another option could be to finely till everything then use a box blade or rake to level things out.

Even though you are thinking about a french drain I still suggest a sub soiler to break the ground up deeper to give you better overall drainage, french drain is good but typically only effective in the direct area.

Good luck with your project. It looks like a nice location.
