Hi everyone I am a new owner of an L3301. It's my first tractor so I am kinda new to all this so be easy on me. I mostly use it to cut 10 acres of pasture. So far I love it. I also bought the loader with it that has been very handy.

Anyway, I do have some drainage swales that need to be redone and some low spots that I need to level out.

Eventually, I want to purchase a box blade and when looking through the Kubota manual that came with my L3301 it lists the implement limitations on page 27. Under box blade it lists a max cutting width of 52". Yet, I see that all the dealers sell the L3301 with a 60" box blade.

Well, just wondering if this is a typo or error? I was thinking of looking at the land pride BB2560 or 2566.

It was recommended to me to use one as wide as your back wheels are and no wider. I think 5 feet wide is the one to go with.
Should work great. Good Luck !

I've got the L3901, just a few more HP than your L3301 and I use a landpride bb1566 box blade. If I were you I'd go no less than a 60 inch box, even then it will be too light to do a lot of heavy grading. I often wish that my 66 inch box blade were another 200lbs heavier. Many times even with the rippers all the way down and angled it has trouble digging into hard packed gravel roads. It weighs 450 lbs and even that's not enough some times.

Just my opinion, but these box blades are the ideal units. Relatively heavy, very well built and it sure is nice to be able to set the rippers with a single pull of a handle from the operator's seat.

Bush Hog, Dirt Dog, Rhino all have the same units. Eagleline has them and they are a bit heavier.

A 65" wide unit fits very well behind the 3301 & 3901 tractors.

These are not cheap, but far less $$$ than any industrial grade unit that requires hydraulics to set the rippers.

A very good compromise IMO. ;)

I have a 6' and 7'. Look around as others stated buy a heavy well built one whether you want 5,6,or7 any of them work with your tractor. There are a lot of cheap light weight ones out there.

I use the King Kutter 60" BB and it works great. It has the curved blades front and back so you can use it either pushing dirt or pulling it. With curved blades it cuts more than just scraping like the straight blades.

My L2501 has a 60" box blade and it seems to handle it fine. It's what they sold me with the tractor.

I went with a 66" extreme duty from ETA.com. At the time, it was the best price, made in USA, covered my rear tires plus some, and looked like a well built piece. I have used it a lot now, and I can tell you that my L2501 has no problem handling the 66". As mentioned in previous posts, buy the heaviest box you can afford. Mine is right around 500lbs, and works well in most applications. Definitely my favorite attachment by far.

That being said,,,, DONOT hesitate to look for farm auctions or on CL or in the Sunday paper under lawn and garden and farm, look on the super market poster board, ask at the dealer, do google search for local farm equipment dealers look at TS adds, when your out puttin around if you see a farmer stop introduce your self and ask,, say do you might know of anyone wanting to get rid of,,X,Y or Z,,, yeah that works too and you might find a deal or a new friend!
Ask around people know people that have things they never use or are to old to use, somethings are hard on old bodies like mine.
Remember buying new yeah it shines and you get the cherry so to speak.
There is a ton of good used stuff out there that has been bought for a reason and when it was done just left to sit.

When you do decide on one, take a look at hydraulic top links. These make box blades so much more versatile and easier to use. It's definitely worth the money if you can afford it.

I have a 3301 with R4 watered tires, no problem at all moving a 72 inch LP BB across level ground with a full box of damp dirt. I would get no less than a 66 inch at minimum to pull wider than the tires, I was surprised this little machine handles the 72 so well.

I run a 68 inch flail mower with my L3901. I noticed the book is very low on their numbers. I really think the numbers were copied and pasted from the L2501 manual. :p
