Hi guys, I bought a B6100 today, pics to follow tomorrow. this is 'bota #2 for me. I found this on craigslist thanks to my brother who is always scanning the various lists for me. very complete with woods mower and elect. PTO. engine was dealer rebuilt 4 yrs ago with everything i can tell from the parts list invoices, have last 15 yrs worth. gentleman was mowing oil light came on. he continued to run for a few mins. then parked it for the last 2 weeks.

Now i traveled 1.5 hrs out of state to see this one. starts up fine and light comes on but will run fine no extra noise than that should be there. will rev, idle, and drive. oil very dirty, doubt maintenance on reg basis. bought it, trailered it home, drove it off trailer. by this time i've heard it run 20 min. noticed light will go OUT if key switch is wiggled some and stay out. will rev all way up and maintain rpm no noise no light until key switch is wiggled. this has a small type kubota switch with a extra large fob.

would years of shaking cause contact to short making a null light condition?
since the sender is easy to reach what about replacing with a face style gauge for a while to see status? other ideas????

thx tim

You can put a gauge on the engine and see what the true oil pressure is. If OK, then trouble shoot the wiring. It is certainly possible for the wiring to have issues and provide incorrect information.

I agree with NC Bota. Get a cheap gauge and see what you get. Perfect time to put it in too when you change that dirty oil and filter. Could be a faulty sender too I guess. Now you have me thinking about getting a gauge for my B8200.

Sounds like to me needs a good fine tooth comb and go over it, change anything and everything. PM is the best thing you can do for your equipment.

And I do mean check everything!
