Had a buddy get fixated on some bikinis during Daytona bike week. Ran into a parked truck :D:D Same guy about 6 months later was in his company truck trying to make a right turn, didn't pay attention to the vehicle in front of him and ran into a porta-potty pumper :D:D

Rode to St.Louis and back to visit my dad in Barnes Jewish Hospital today, just over 200 miles. Beautiful day!! The bike is quite comfortable and I haven't changed it at all. Found some info on setting up the suspension to my weight. I'm going to dial it in as soon as I get some time.

I started riding in 1966 on a Honda 90. Been riding on-and-off ever since. Did take an extended break starting around 1984 due to finances and family, didn't ride again until after I retired from the Navy in 1990.

My preference (and financial capacity) is for bikes from the "sweet spot" of my youthful riding days, the 1970's.

I've been riding the 1979 Yamaha XS650 for 5 years now since I found it as a beater and refurbished it.

The 1974 Suzuki GT550 was last winter's project and is mechanically complete and just waiting on a front fender to pass inspection. I've had it out for a few "test rides" and it brings back fond memories of street 2 smokers.

I've been fortunate in that (not counting dirt bike get-offs) I've only been down three times in 50 years, and walked away from all three with nothing more serious than ruined underwear and a little road rash.

I ride MUCH more conservatively these days however.

The video on SMIDSY crashes was very good, I shall have to remember the weaving maneuver and pass it on to my daughter. She just started riding 2 years ago.

Nice bikes Paul thanks for sharing.

Haven't had much time for riding the last few days, I did get the bugs cleaned off the front and a applied a coat of wax though.
