I have a b locked fuel system on my GR2120. I first had it last year. I changed the two fuel filters but the problem still existed, so I removed the filter prior to the fuel pump and noticed that there was no fuel coming from the tank. I drained the tank but could not reach the outlet so next I forced air back up the pipe from the tank and this cleared the system and the fuel poured out. Problem solved or so I thought until yesterday when I was chain harrowing one of my paddocks. The machine stopped in the middle of the paddock so I did the usual thing of clearing the pipes but still a lack of fuel down the pipe. My question is how do I clean out the tank and clear the in tank Filter?

Despite being across the pond - it seems you are suffering the same problems we have here!:)

You could have a broken piece of fuel sending unit clogging the works - that once it is free, is comes back to the orifice and stops it up again.

Could be you have a algae problem -where fuel has some "slime" in the pathway too, basically doing the same thing as the broken sending unit. If this could be the case, place some fuel treatment in there and allow to do its job a bit and see what happens.

Best and really only answer is to remove tank and get "it" out. Otherwise this will be a problem for a long time!:)

Thanks for the reply. What do loot over the other of the pond call fuel treatment.
The other thing where can I get a work shop manual from? I tried the last time to get the tank out but got confused (LOST) after taking the seat off

I generally clean my water evap and other fuel components with kerosene. I don’t recommended running kerosene in your machine as you could potentially damage seals but a light cleaning wouldn’t hurt . Sounds like it could be a line , I don’t think I’ve had a filter really plug .

I can tell you it is not a fuel line problem as I have disconnected the fuel filter nearest the tank and nothing is coming out of the tank. To get it from where I was using it back to the barn I dropped a pipe into the filler hole and where I had removed the pipe from the tank to the first filter I connect up the other end after making sure the pipe was full of gas. Worked a treat so the problem is the fuel tank.
The suggested reading material is how to use the machine and maintain it not how to take it to bits and fix it.

That GR2120 is a diesel yes???:)

And you placed diesel in the temp tank yes?

You need to remove the tank and shake the living daylights out of it to remove whatever you have blocking the orifice. Once out - take out all diesel, and blow 10 psi or so from hose connection back through, and hopefully something comes out the filler hole!

report back what you find!

How the heck do you remove the fuel tank(diesel). Last time I had the problem I removed the seat but chickened out going ant further as I do not have anything to refer to. Does the service manual cover it? I have a comprehensive tool kit as at on time I was in competition with Snapon in the U.K.

If it's algae in the fitting, you might try and use a fine piece of wire like that in a mig welder. Run it back and forth a few times and see if you get some chunks out of it. I had a plugged up tank fitting in the spring and got it cleaned out with air. Been using bio kleen in it since.

I'll try the algae idea first but the only Bio clean I can see on line here in France is for drains ont as an additive to fuel. I'll try Wynns additive and see if the works. At least the grass noes not need cutting as we have not had much rain in the last four months.

Well I have unblocked the blockage, fuel runs freely. Put in fuel additive and filtered the fuel before refilling, goes like a goodun. Will visit the people I purchased it from when I am in UK later this month for tips of how to remove all the bits to get the tank out and see about a work shop manual.
