Black diesel? (Not in a tractor)

So every year I have 300 trillion metric tons of used oil that ends up sitting in my barn for years until someone will take it. Then I spend tons and tons on heating oil for greenhouses and such. I know you can buy super expensive waste oil burners but I have also seen videos of people making.. "black diesel" from 80-90% used oil and 10-20% gasoline and it actually burning good and clean in these simple chinese diesel heaters. So now I'm curious, has anyone tried this? Has anyone taken a regular old oil burner and tried this? What's the best mix? So many questions!

Generally if we get someone else to take it away it gets burned in their waste oil burner so I'm like hmm what can I do?

There are a lot of air contamination issues with burning used oil.
Also if you don't get the mix right it can become very volatile.

I use smudge pots to get rid of my waste oil. I find it's easier than starting campfires and when I go in for the night, just close the shutter and lid, next morning just fire it up.

The reason waste oil burners and waste oil heaters are expensive is because when burned, the waste oil gives up harmful contaminates to the surrounding atmosphere, some of which are poisonous and persistent. A properly designed burner/heater reaches temperatures which eliminate those toxins, while home-made and many “kit” burners do not.

Neighbour down the road blends waste oil with home heating oil. He says the secret is good filtration. Uses multiple tanks and filters at each stage of transfer. Takes waste oil from neighbours.

50/50 heating oil and waste oil is a common one too. I would probably let it go through coffee filters just add a bit whenever I'm going by until I get a bunch cleaned up. I think the 90/10 gas/oil one burned very hot so cleaner

For quite a few years when I was running a few trucks, I would pump the drain oil into the fuel tanks of the trucks. Neither CATs, Cummins or Detroits seemed to be affected by it. I always made sure there was enough fuel in the tanks so that it was at least a 10:1 dilution.
