The swing speed on my BL4690 is extremely fast which makes it difficult to dig near things you don't want to hit. It is managable if you just crack the valve open. The hydraulics run off of the PTO which I usually run around 2000rpm motor speed. The speed of the other functions seem to be ok. Comments?

Put a flow restrictor in the line that controls the swing function (either feed or return will work. You can make your own with a suitable sized metal disc (a penny or dime works well) and drill a hole in it. Start out with a small hole and work up with bigger holes, trying the swing speed as you enlarge the hole. You can buy flow restrictors at most tractor dealers, but I make my own.
In my case I use a restrictor to control the drop speed of the header on my disc cutter so it don't slam down on the ground when I'm mowing.
