I have a new BH92 (delivered 12/17). With the support arms in the UP
position and the tractor NOT running, the support arms on the BH92 drop
by themselves. The exact amount of time it takes is unknown, but I assume
it is less than 24 hours. Is this a problem I can correct myself (not mechanically inclined) or do I need to take to Kubota for servicing. We have
had extremely cold (-26) weather the past few weeks, could this be a problem. The hydraulics work fine to lift and lower the support arms, but when the tractor is not running, the arms lower themselves.
Help, Kubota Newbee.:confused::confused:http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif

Had the exact same problem on my BH77, new in April.

Mine was only on one. Stabilizer would drop from upright to the garage floor in +/- 12 hours. Two trips to the dealer later and it was a bad cylinder. First time they tried to rebuild it, didn't fix it. Second time they put on a new cylinder. That did it.

This is a natural draw down. Many on this site seem to think it can be corrected, but everyone I talk to as well as the dealer say it will happen. I hook a cable or small ratchet strap from one arm to the other when I take it off the tractor to hold them up. When you hook it back up to the tractor, just hook the hose and raise the arms, remove the strap and go to work.

I have the same problem, in the summer time - those arms might take a week to drop, in the past cold spell, they fell almost over night.

Every time I start the tractor - I ALWAYS raise them to the max height, and curl the back bucket too.

The strap idea is a good one too! ;):)

Same here. happens on both my old machine and the new one. I also just got into the habit of using a ratchet strap hooked between the two stabilizer arms (so that they would simply pull against each other and not go anywhere). I do this for long term storage.

I haven't had the droop issue yet on my BH77, but we are just now getting some cold weather (southeast GA) so I will keep an eye out.

My neighbor has a TYM with a backhoe, and his has little metal straps that go from the frame to the support arms, similar in function to the catch that holds our booms.

In this picture, you can see them hanging vertically, and the connection point on the support arm.

There was another thread about this the other day, or this is it, I'm not sure. Anyway, I called my dealer and talked to the shop foreman. He told me the only thing that he could find as far as acceptable leak-by applies only to a loaded bucket. Drop of 2" in 5 minutes is ok to Kubota. However, he said that outriggers dropping to the ground overnight is absolutely a problem and should be repaired under warranty if equipment is under warranty.

Mine on my BH70 have dropped about 6 inches over the last few cold nights. If I don’t pin the boom and dipper, it will lower to the ground in a couple of days.

I don't know what happened to this post, but it overwhelms my screen! Any way I got a picture of my straps on the outriggers.
