BH92 Price for MX5200DT

I'm looking at adding a BH92 backhoe to my 2019 MX5200DT and was wondering about what I should expect for cost at the dealership. I haven't talked to the dealer yet, but will once I go on my next days off, but was hoping you guys would have a ballpark figure so so that I know I'm getting a fair deal.

I want to do the BH92 w/ hydraulic thumb. I'm not sure what all is exactly needed. From research it seems I'll need the backhoe itself, the subframe kit, and then the hydraulic thumb kit is sold separate. In terms of hydraulic hookups, I don't have any rear remotes nor a third function, so I would also need everything in terms of hydraulics for the backhoe. I think I read that the subframe kit comes with the hydraulic lines/fittings that are required to tie into the factory hydraulics. I will add rear remotes at a later time.

FYI: expect a long wait. I ordered a BH92 with my L4701 first week of August 2021, and still no word on when it may arrive. Hope they’ve sorted some things and your wait will be shorter!

My ballpark guess would be $15k and 1 year lead time.

Oh but to actually answer your question: I paid 7800 for backhoe, 1130 for subframe, 788 for 18” trenching bucket, and 887 for mechanical thumb. That’s $10,605 all together before tax (for mechanical thumb not hydraulic thumb). This was August 2021.

Seems like the "mcfarmall" estimate above ( of $15K all in ) may be just about right with 2022 pricing!
An absolutely crazy number !

I am currently (03/22) shopping for a Kubota "quick connect" 16" trenching bucket, which is now $1,100 (Messick's dealer price + $140 shipping).

I am actually about to buy an E-Bay "AIM" (Ohio manufacturer) 16" bucket for $1,009, including shipping (minus 5% more for credit card points cash rebate)
From what I can tell, the "AIM" bucket may be slightly better quality, is 24 lbs. heavier than OEM, and the cost is $100 less than OEM, with shipping cost included (save another $140).

I think $1009.......is .crazy pricing for a 16" bucket, but ......I am 81,.... and I want it!

My most local Kubota dealer refused to provide no shipping cost OEM "whole goods" order pricing!

INFO: Kubota OEM BH buckets are apparently made by both Werk-Brau, and Land Pride.

Shop around . When I was looking for a hoe ( BH77 ) for my 3301l I got prices from $ 10,900 without bucket to $8,750 with bucket ( 12" ) & mechanical thumb + tax . Don't know where your at , I bought mine from Garton Tractor in Ukiah CA .

If it's going to be a year, I may look at going a different route instead of buying the backhoe and maybe pick up a mini trackhoe instead. a year seems like a LONG time to wait. I will shop around on the price but i was figuring in the neighborhood of 12-14k is what i figured.

I paid $10500 for a bh92 last June, the manual thumb brought the total up to about $11500. I think the hydraulic thumb was $3000 at the time.

That sounds about the going price. I just hope it's not a full year before i could actually get one in. I'll get a hold of my local dealer tomorrow and see what they say.

Dealer said he has had one on order since November '20. May have to look into some different options if the wait time is 15+ months.

Does anyone know what subframe kit I would need in order to mount the backhoe to the mx5200. I’ve looked online but not real sure what I’m looking for. I found a BH92 but the subframe kit won’t fit mine. Thanks.

Believe it or not, i was able to find a dealer who had a subframe kit in stock and found someone willing to sell their backhoe off of a L4701. Will pick up both this weekend.
