Hi guys, Could somebody with a BH77 take a look at their BH and compare it to the pictures I have posted here of mine. It looks to me like there's an incomplete weld on mine, but I'd like to verify that before I take any further steps. The first picture is of the area in question. The greasy zerk fitting you can see is the lower pivot point of the stabilizer ( right side of tractor while sitting on tractor ). The second picture is of the exact same area on the opposite side. It's obvious that the two sides are not the same, just wanted to make sure that this is not how they all are. This is on a b2650 with about 60 hours on it ( MUCH less on the BH ). Thanks

I’m seeing some dirt in the toe of the weld on the first pic. Take a nylon brush to that area and see if the dark spot is still there.

It looks like dirt that is in the weld crater, or corrosion in the metal, coming through the paint. I don't think it's a defect in the weld.

Sorry for the terrible pictures, not exactly easy sticking my phone in there and getting a good pic. I took 2 more pictures after I cleaned the area the best I could.
Yea, pictures are difficult sometimes.

Take a tooth pick and dig around in the black/dark area and see if there is orange paint underneath or is it a void in the weld.

I was digging around there with a toothpick and a dental pick....you can definitely feel the area that seems to have the void.....but it's not big enough to actually get a wooden toothpick to "stand" on its own when in there. I'm amazed I didn't see this before today. The whole reason I was even down there was because I had a hydraulic leak from one of the BH hoses, and that was the general area that I could readily see the fluid before it dripped on my garage floor. I was just sort of wasting time in the garage on a really miserable rainy day, when I looked to make sure there wasn't and hydraulic fluid there, and that's when I spotted it. The other thing that really got me wondering is this, I don't have any previous experience on a small BH like this, and very limited experience on anything bigger, but from the first time I used this BH I always thought that the amount of moving and twisting in the "floor" was excessive when digging, but I just always figured that was to be expected, after all, it's not a full size backhoe, it's a tractor with a backhoe attachment bolted onto it. Anyway, here's another picture I took from a little different angle, you can clearly see that the amount of weld is substantially less in that area, but I'm certainly NOT a welder by any means.

I've seen worse. Those are a little on the amatuer side of MiG but I dont see fatal errors.

You should be fine.

I think that should be fine. If it bugs you then take it back and get the dealer to look at it...or beef it up.

I beat the absolute hell out of my rig in boulder country...no issues and my welds in the same places are the same inconsistency as yours. Stuff breaks...learning to weld is a good idea if you own a tractor...plus it is easy and a handy skill. My BH is on a bigger tractor too...
