The dip cylinder ( middle one) leaks back a bit when I put pressure on it.
There are no visible oil leaks on it.
Could it possibly be the 4-way joystick valve or is it time to rebuild the cylinder.
Thanks

The answer in my opinion is it could be either. There have been post about the backhoes having minor issues that seemed like trash in the system that soon works its way out. Hopefully this will happen for you within the next few hours. So far I have been lucky, mine works great.

Is the leak coming from one of the hose fittings or does it appear that the leak is at the cylinder rod itself? Make sure the fittings are tightly threaded. If it's at the cylinder rod, you may have an internal seal that is starting to go bad.

A hydraulics shop can do a rebuild of such cylinders, usually at reasonable cost, or if you're more adventurous, many folks buy the rebuild kit and do their own.
