Bevel gear housing leaking. B2650hst 4wd cab

Not long I had to replace the bearings and seal on the axel case. I have now developed a leak where the bevel gear housing connects into the axel housing. Can I just replace the seal or do I need to go ahead and replace the bearings? I am in the Western North Carolina mountains where we had flooding. I have to rebuild 1862" of our road that was washed away. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Unfortunately I still don't have internet back at the house and no cell service. I will have to check back in when I have a signal.

No seal there just an O-ring gasket, and there is no bearings that effect that connection.

Sorry to hear of your problems from the storm. Have you checked the bolts to make sure they are tight?

No seal there just an O-ring gasket, and there is no bearings that effect that connection.

Mine is wet in the marked area. I got it cleaned up so I could tear it apart. Then the fiber guys came to rehab and splice our cable. We have been without the internet or a way to use our cell phones since 6:15am September 27th. Getting it back today really helps me with this task.

Thank you. No I haven't. I will but I think I'm leaking from a different area. Tractor has been covered in mud since the storm hit us until today. Will be getting into it in the morning.

That area you marked uses a seal, not o-ring. If it is only weeping oil a little bit, you can get by for a while by just making sure the oil level is high enough. Particularly if you really need the tractor to recover from storm damage.

I had hoped I could do that but unfortunately it is past a slow leak now.

that's too bad. If it were still a slow leak/weep, I'd suggest that you try gear oil (like 80W-90). I had a similar issue with my old BX23D. I replaced seals and bearings on that machine due to wear and it continued to weep with hydraulic fluid in the front gear case. Drained and refilled it with gear oil and it never leaked again.

Yea, I had hoped I could just keep adding oil and stopped at the dealer on the way back up the mountain and bought a gallon jug. It let me know real quick that wasn't going to work. Definitely bad timing on this breakdown as usual.

My B3200 spindle seal leaked at 909 hrs. I pulled it apart replaced the seal (real challenge getting the old metal part off and new one in place. I must have pinched/twisted/mangled something because it began leaking again after 90 or 100 hrs. I ordered a new seal and was trying to build-up my enthusiasm up to tackle it. Then I had a wild idea.
I BOUGHT A JAR OF "BARR'S LEAK OIL REPAIR" POURED IT IN AND IT IS STILL RUNNING. It has developed another leak in that assembly but not enough to boost me to tear it apart. I check it when I see some oil and dirt, wash it off, add some gear oil, and go again.
It's almost a condition of, "If it ain't BROKE don't fix it".!!!!!! I'm sure I'll catch some grief over this "modification".
