Hello OTT, I have not posted in several years. Life gets in the way. Sorry.

I am trying to get an idea on the value of my B7100-D, Loader & Backhoe. I'm not sure where to turn for the info. After many years of great service with my B7100-D I would like to upgrade to an HST model. Maybe a BX version with Loader and Backhoe. The key is to have a removable Backhoe so I can also use a Land Pride Rotary Cutter on occasion. Any help on how to get a value so I can sell it would be appreciated. The tractor is fully operational, and has cleared snow just a week ago.

I'm not sure if I should post any photos or additional info on the unit here, so I will wait for direction on where I should be looking or posting this info.
The B7100 was built in 1980, Chassis Serial # 7001-70XXX. I have owned it since 1984.

Sincerely, Dan

Dan,

I'll offer this :

having owned 3 B7100's - I'll say they are great tractors. I never had a FEL or a BH on any of them however.

They ones I bought were bought in the last 10 years, the last one about 3 years ago. Each were bought under the 3K price. Each were machines under 2K hours - one had 800 hours. ALL of them were the later model HST versions.

I would say you should base your price on WHAT your machine can do - anyone wanting the small compact that can move dirt and dig trenches will quickly see that your machine is almost priceless. In todays market your pre TIER tractor despite it's age is still worth a good bit.

An older B7100 geared without any attachments should bring something close to $2,000 - maybe less depending on condition and hours. Add the FEL, should bring another $1,500 and the backhoe should be higher than the FEL. If I were selling your machine, I would have a dozen pictures or more pasted on FB and CL for about $7,500 and sit back and weed out the tire kickers and see what it will bring. It will be a sht show of people wanting to give you $2,000 for the entire thing or one will ask if you will sell the FEL separately and so on.

As for the BX series - if you ever get there - I would tell you to JUMP on the first one you can find - it is night and day difference in the power and "smoothness" of what it can do. Both the FEL and BH can come off easily in 5 minutes or less once you get the hang of it. I bought my BX25D FIRST - then went back to old iron for grass cutting and 3 point attachments. MY son uses one on his hilly yard, I use one on my hilly yard and have another BX for a lake place to take care of all those needs.

By all means post pictures here so we can tell you MORE about a more accurate price - my price is just a SWAG based on what I see daily on MP (where I spend wayyyy too much time looking for "things!")
I have never seen your machine on my local MP or CL - I am not sure there are a whole lot of those combos left running around.

hmm.. 'value' ....
up here a BX23S will cost about 30K out the door.... so you might get 10K for yours.
A lot depends on IF there are ANY 'BX23S' type machines at the dealers. No machine, makes your valuable !
Do a search for similar machine ,within the state, see what comes up ??

I have a slightly newer B7200DT with loader and was in your position last April. It did not take long to figure out selling it was not going to significantly reduce the cost of the new L3901. It is now my "small" tractor and handy as a shirt pocket for jobs where the L3901 is overkill. In other words - hang on to it.

When I purchased my L2501 I was asked by several family, neighbors and friends if my B7100 was for sale. As Dan did, I hung onto it and super glad I did. Its perfect for certain jobs and allows me to keep those hours off the L2501.

I think if there is a way financially and space wise that you keep your b7100 and make your new purchase it's the better solution. JMHO

I agree with all the posters, however I would add some to 85Hokie's price. Spring is upon us, tractors are scarce and anyone wanting to get outside and do some work will need what's available.

A guy who just bought a few acres a quarter mile down the road told me this week told me he has his tractor half paid for already because a contractor bid $8500 to put a 200' driveway in. People just like "toys" that get work done. When they see what they can save it effects what they are willing to pay.

Guy's, thank you for all your responses. They are much appreciated. Dan & Ken, I would love to keep it and add to my collection. If I could do that I would do a complete update and paint it. It would become my "Garage Queen" :D.

I have had it so long it's like it's part of the family. LOL... Space and cost are two factors in the need to replacing it with a newer unit that I can remove the loader and backhoe to use other attachments I am not able to use with the B7100-D.

My plan is evolving now. Working with my local dealer, I have shifted from a BX tractor to the B2601 model with loader and backhoe. The B2601 is more in size to the B7100, and I don't want to go backwards in my capability. I will post some photos in my next post, so you can get a better idea of what I have and its current condition and value.

Again, thank you for your input and help.

PS: I do have a Cub Cadet GT3100 to handle smaller projects.

Here are some photos of the current condition of my B7100 and a list of it's features:

B7100-D Kubota - Manual Transmission. MFG: 1980, purchased by me in 1984

Sims Cab, Full glass windshield, w/ 12 volt wiper motor, soft side & rear curtains.

ARPS 70 Backhoe - Purchased new by me and installed by Kubota dealer.
Note: The Backhoe seat was removed to install the curtains for winter plowing use.

B219 Kubota Front End Loader - came with tractor a purchase 1984

Custom Oversize R4 Tires & Rims - Tractor came with R1 AG tires. I had Kubota Dealer manufacture front rims to match the rear tires and rims size to match axle gear ratios. This was to not turn at different ratios and place force on front axle 4 wheel drive system. Rear Tires are loaded with RimGuard.

Would you mind giving me the size of the tires that you have on it?

Hey Wolfman & Hokie's,

The Tires are TITAN Trac Loader
Front: 23x8.50 - 12 SS
Rear: 12 - 16.5 NHS

Many years ago, the owner of my local Kubota Dealer did all the research and sourcing of the tires and rims for me. It took a while for him to get it together. He had to have a machine shop cut out the center plate of the front rims and have the correct bolt pattern plate made welded in and balanced. He did an awesome job. I hated the AG tires.

What do you feel I should accept for my B7100 TLB ???

Thanks, Dan

After seeing it a lot more than I initially thought. The backhoe is probably $5K just by itself. The problem of course is the age of the machine.

Dan,
Thanks for the tire info!

That BH is worth quite a bit, it's a much heavier model than the Kubota model.
I would price it in the 8.5K range and see what kind of interest you get.

Thanks Wolfman, I really appreciate your input.

I am trying to do a reality check, to see what others on this forum, that know Kubota's especially this old model would say. The Backhoe, Rims and Tires are worth something for sure. I did not think 2000 hours is too high. I feel it has a lot of good life left in it, and would love it to go to a good home. I have owned it since 1984 and it has not been abused.

My local dealer said that with the short supply of used tractors and the current condition as it is equipped I should start at around $10K+ and take no less than $8.5K. I am just trying to confirm what they told me seems right.

Wolfman, As a side note, when I purchased the backhoe I was told that the ARPS 70 is the same
unit that is placed on the back of the HD Utility trucks for the Gas Utility Companies in my area.

They used to mount the units on the left rear corner of this type of truck.

I agree with that, especially after seeing the pictures. Good luck and be patient. Since your dealer knows your looking for a newer tractor, offer him $500 to sell yours. Then he'll be looking hard for something for you to replace it with, and he'll be motivated because he'll know you're ready to buy.

I agree with TheOldHokie, I sold my 1995 B7100HST-D with a loader and turf tires for $3500 to a friend 5 years ago. I cannot count the times I wish I still had it for jobs my L3901 is to big or heavy for , especially in the spring driving across thawing or water soaked lawns. If you can afford it and have the storage space keep it, at least until you really know you do not need it. Thats why farmers have different sized tractors, the right tool for the job.
