Best Towing Option

Hello! I'm a newby, so I apologize if I am re-hashing an old subject. I'm looking a the best option for pulling trailers with my BX. I have the bar that fits the 3 point hitch, but it seems very wobbly. Is there a way of securing that better or another option for pulling trailers?

Google "3 Point Hitch Trailer Mover". Lots of different options, stick your ball mount with the appropriate size ball in there and you're good to go.

Use the drawbar that "should" be affixed to the underside of the rear axle.

You need to put a crossbar/drawbar lock….to keep it from being “wobbly”.

As long as you understand 3-point hitch limitations/benefits, there are lots of options; I use a Heavy Hitch which allows me to add 8 suitcase weights when I’m using my FEL.

Be mindful that towing a trailer from the 3-point mounted draw bar, that it can be lifted to the limits of the arms quite easily (try pulling up on the arms). If your trailer becomes heavy in the rear, the hitch will lift up and potentially cause problems. As others have said, if you have the drawbar coming out from under the transmission, might think about using that.

You can quickly secure the 3PH drawbar by securing a chain around it and an axle housing. Nice thing about 3PH is you can level the trailer, as it's adjustable. The regular 'drawbar' is real low, maybe 6 " off the ground .
There's plenty of ways to do it, but 'best' depends on what the 'trailer' is and 'load' and where it's going....

A hitch that hard mounts to the front and back are the best method for towing. Once you start trying to tow from the 3ph, (as mentioned) it's reliability and safety factor (terrain and load based) can change in an instant. Example: 3ph is set very low. While towing on flat ground, "most times" all goes fine. Now same scenario, but with a hump, or rise in the travel path. All is fine until the rear of the tractor crests the rise and down the other side. As the trailer tongue begins to crest, the weight on the back of the tractor becomes less. Next thing that can happen is the 3ph and whatever you are towing, lifts the 3ph to its highest position. The situation (again, given the load) "could" drive the tongue of the trailer right through the seat and injure the driver.

It may sound far fetched, but I think outside the box of norm.
