I just ordered a new muffler from the dealer. Sometimes OEM is best, sometimes not, especially if your closes dealer is 2 hours away.

Hi all, wondering where yall go for your parts?

I have two dealers 30 minutes in opposite directions - but I also have ordered parts from several online OEM Kubota sellers.

Messicks

Colemans Equipment

both carry a wide assortment of parts - sometimes the shipping is a bit high but then again shipping anything is high these days unless your reach a high dollar amount.

There are other places on the net to order parts too.

Sometimes when ordering "parts" like filters and other small items - you must be careful that is not a fake part, many parts including oil and hydraulic filters look like the OEM but are not!!!! This is true with all big name replacement parts of all kinds - Caveat emptor!

Closest dealer to me is about an hour away, each way.

The one I bought from was closer, but closed.

On line is best for me. Would buy locally if there was a dealer, but there isn't, so it is a no brainer most of the time. For fluids I try to plan ahead and buy when I am in the vicinity of the existing dealer...but it is not worth a special trip considering time and fuel costs to get there and back.

I use the links posted above. Colemans seems cheaper for shipping last time I ordered.

Local dealer for parts. After 5 years only filters, SUDT2, rear remote kit and paint for the cab. Their prices are in-line with Messicks & Coleman’s

Curious, how local is local? Would it make a difference to you if the dealer was 50 miles away?

My dealer is about a 2 hour drive away. But makes no difference because they are the only one. (well there is an LS and a Kioti dealer closer, but both dealers suck and I'm not interested in their products.)

Anyway, it is not a big deal because when I do make the trip I will buy 2 pails of SUDT and two or three complete sets of filters and fuel bowl o-rings, and all the maintenance stuff for my Deere push mower and my Echo power tools. I just keep a stock at home, so I don't need to run every time I service something.

And a side benefit of supporting your dealer is they get to know you well and the deals get better very time you buy.

I have bought some stuff online for my Polaris ATV's. Just because I hate the local dealer. What I have experienced there is good and bad. Got a new radiator for a fifth of the price compared to Polaris. It has been flawless.
Got the fan for same bike and although it is still working.....it makes a horrible racket compared to factory Polaris.
Wheels bearings I got are good also. But some LED lights bars were crap.

So you have to roll the dice.

I understand what you are saying, because for oil especially I do find a way to make it to a dealer to purchase. But for a fuel filter or oil filter or other small stuff where shipping is not an issue, no way. Not cost effective, in time or money. AND my closest dealer is "only" one hour away!

Everyone has their own opinion. I'm not saying anything is right or wrong. But I still like going to my dealer because the more I buy the better the purchase prices he gives me because I am there all the time.
So works for me.
Plus when they are busy and have customers lined right up......they slip me right in.

This winter he gave a great deal on a backhoe for my tractor so I bought it. He came and picked my tractor up and did the install right away and got it back to me. And since they know how clean I keep my stuff they even picked it up and delivered it back in an enclosed trailer so my tractor didn't get salt and winter road grime all over it.
