Was reading an article about a rabid beaver attacking people at a lake. As we have been moving out to the farm, been spending time educating the family that didn't grow up on/around the farm about the dangers of cute animals. We have several young grand-nieces that thinks every animal is a Disney animal. We have been trying to give them a healthy respect without instilling fear.

Hairless beavers require the most scrutiny as they cause the most long-term damage.

Typical leftist news making up BS stories for headlines. That doesn`t even act like a rabid beaver. Its pissed off because people are messing with him/her, its trying to protect its territory. Beavers are very territorial animals.

This is how an animals acts that has rabies.

Yup - it doesn't show what happened just before the video started. Was that kid smashing the beaver's home - probably the structure on the left.

Maybe the beaver was protecting it young in there.

Then the guy laughing when shooting video.

All of them ignorant and disrespectful.

Years ago (1985) I was at my property up north laying out some stakes for the corners of my cabin foundation when a large skunk walked up. (unusual)
It was a bright sunny day, about 10am. (unusual, skunks are nocturnal)
I backed off, walking backwards around the car.
He followed. (unusual)
I yelled & waved my arms, he still followed. (unusual)
He followed me 3 laps around the car. (unusual)
On the third lap, I grabbed a Ruger target pistol off the seat, and drilled him in the top of the head.
Thankfully he didn't spray.
The head F&G guy lived about a half mile away, and I got lucky and caught him home, and he agreed to have a look.
He agreed this was pretty bizarre behavior, although it looked completely normal.
We used a shovel to double bag it in 2 trash bags and he sent it to ASU for testing.
Turns out it was rabid, and they put out a rabies alert for the area.
Never heard anything more on the subject.

You should never shoot them in the head. The brain is what they use to test for the rabies.
