I already had the panel... just bought the controller Think it was 20 something bucks in the amazon.

Just a couple hours sun should keep it up to snuff.

I think you're wasting your battery maintainer with a solar panel. It's not going to put out so much power you need to shut it down!

I have a solar panel charging the batteries on my '95, 6.5 diesel. It's been on there a few years with no problem. I have it up on the dash with a paper towel roll under it to keep it flush with the glass.

I have one similar to yours that I keep plugged in to my MX5800. It's actually a solar panel and battery tender in one. Battery tender makes it. You can see it on Amazon if you're interested

I don't use anything on the tractors in the barn and they always fire right up, well, so long as the batteries are good.

My truck in the garage is on a Yuhasa charger, just like the battery tender. I sell Yuhasa's so use what I sell. All 3 bikes are on Yuhasa's too. So is my gas driven Lincoln Ranger 8.

Flooded cell batteries unless there is a parasitic loss, loose very little charge when idle. Why I put the disconnect on the tractors. Take the battery out of the circuit and it stays just fine.

15 seconds of pre-heat and 1/2 turn and the Kubby's are popping over.

I disagree.

my solar panel is quite a bit larger than the little solar mat in your truck.
mine is a 30 watt.

and for 20 bucks It's good insurance that it stays at 12v

I'm quite happy with my solar charger as well as my 110v battery tender jrs.
on the bikes.
