You guys must have got tractors that were built on a Friday. Holy smokes! The only work I've done on mine is maintenance. It's been flawless since I've had it. Uh oh, I probably just jinxed it.
I certainly hope you have not jinxed me or you!!!

Please don't get me wrong. I like my new tractor and my issues have been minor. I was simply exasperated and venting. I had just spent half a day trying unsuccessfully to snake out a clogged kitchen drain pipe and when the tractor wouldn't start and was blocking the lane for the high $$$$ plumber I was forced to call in it pushed me over the edge.

My little rant seems to have opened the door for all the new technology haters. I am not one of them and I have had my fill of fighting with used cars, trucks, and tractors. My take on that is considerably different. I have spent the last couple decades fixing my old stuff and listening to and helping people on forums just like this fix theirs. The forums (and my skinned knuckles) are testimony to the fact that old iron has more than its share of failures and maintenance issues. I have three sitting here out of service right now waiting for me to get to them.

I am 71 and this is the first new vehicle of any type I have ever owned and I am happy as a pig in you know what about that. I considered a late model used tractor and decide against it because I did not want to deal once again with someone else's screw ups and/or problems.

The wife's BMW purchased off factory lease is the next newest machine in my herd and it has been wonderful. Without any doubt the most reliable vehicles I have ever owned are all 2007 or newer. I am looking forward to a similar experience with my shiny new and factory warranted 2021 tractor. I will keep my fingers crossed for both of us ;)

You are right that there are things that are more reliable they are not all bad. I can remember the days of cars with points and carbs and the new ones are way better starting then the old days. My Kubota was a planned retirement purchase . I get frustrated with the secrets of some of it and the learning curve I go thru to be able to still handle it myself. I understand where you were coming from for sure.

No, I'm not a technology hater at all. I'm an electrical engineer that embraced technology a long time ago. Technology is how I made my living for 40 years. Just thanking my stars that I didn't have the same set of problems pile up that you did, because that seems like a normal day to me, LOL. I could tell your complaint was a compounded frustration.

Sometimes, you have one of THOSE days that starts off with a gentle and subtle warning to just stay inside and watch TV and fix the little problem the next day when you've calmed down. Which, of course, you ignore, and the next thing you know, you've got 5 or 6 new repair projects, some of which may be self-inflicted due to the frustration with the problem that gave you fair warning to start with. Is that what retirement is all about?
