Bad Server Performance

Hey everyone - OTT's server is not performing well at the moment, slow page loads (or none at all). We're debugging with the hosting company at the moment. Hang tight!

Ok things are looking more responsive after we made some optimizations (growing pains!). Let's see if these hold...

BTW Cogeco ( my ISP ) decided to update the Motorola modems they use at 11AM yesterday.... Once I found a phone number( hm, internet's down,can't look it up, DOH ! ) 6 HOURS later, they reboot my modem from their end...'up and running'....grrrr

Sad thing is I have one in the basement, and 4 of my working laptops have them built in, still work 100%.
Anyone remember when Visicalc came out ? I stil have it on 5 1/4" floppies.

Ok things are looking pretty stable at the moment. Think we are getting close to what the existing hardware configuration can give us, will need to upgrade in the not-distant future.

I have noticed a problem with frequent refreshing again. Very annoying when I’m in the middle of posting a comment and the refresh makes me start over again.

I figured out that if you use the refresh button when that happens you should get some of your post back. Only when the post is new not on edit of existing post
