I have an L3901 with hoe for heavier work and a BX2670 for mowing and gardening. For the hoe, disconnect 1 set of pins and the 2 hoses and it's off. Takes 3 minutes including time to get the stabilizers and bucket in position.

The 3 point hitch is another story. It's a torture chamber of cotter pins and fasteners. Swapping out for lynch pins, etc., is on my to-do list.
I have owned a 2601 for about 3 months now. Its great. I have 3.5 acres. I didn***8217;t buy a backhoe but am thinking about getting one. Don***8217;t know if I really need one. Has anyone got one and then regretted it because they don***8217;t use it?
Is it easy to put on and take of?

Get it. The ridiculous cost is worth it. I wouldn't have bothered buying my B2650 without one. I expect to use it regularly throughout the years and the long list of projects I started with for it has already doubled since having it. I don't know if that's good or bad... Just finished mucking out the goat barn of 3 years of waste hay that accumulated, compacted, and condensed into an 18" wet carpet. I never would have been able to get that out without it. I'm sure you will not regret it and use it for years.

I missed out recently on a small locally fabricated unit - rather annoyed as it was only $2500. I was caller #2 and #1 decided to take it.

I have my eye at another at the dealer, used, but it will cost me over $4k by the time I get it home.

Anyone in the pacific northwest with a nice little 3 point hitch mount backhoe for a 25HP tractor, let me know.

Scholtens in Burlington has a Bradco for $3800 and a Han for $2800. They're listed on their website.

I was looking at a new BH77 for my L3901. Ouch $8500 plus the shipping. I was wondering if I have to get a third function for the back as well to provide hydro to the Bh77? That is an added cost I have to factor in. Still deciding whether to drive down or have it shipped by barge from WA to AK. Decisions decisions.

The Han is actually a Handlers Equipment backhoe made by Brands Mfg in Chilliwack, I guess some of the decals have peeled off. It is a very nice and strong unit - identical to the one I missed out on locally, but in USD instead of CAD. The local dealer also has one on the back of a B7200. They run off of tractor hydraulics and have a very robust top link system.

I just bought a B/L-4520B in the interior for just over $3k.

There is a almost new Wallenstein with subframe for a L5030 for sale on craigslist on the coast: https://comoxvalley.craigslist.ca/hvo/d/backhoe-attachment/6604413749.html
It's already Kubota orange too, and the exchange rate would work out in your favor.

Thanks Shootem. Thats a nice unit. I wouldn't have to drive all the way to Washington either. Hadn't thought about checking in BC, NWT, or YT. Alberta or Calgary would be quite a run but western Canada is quite doable. Thanks.

Meridian Equipment in WA also has a Kubota backhoe, a 4690. I looked at it awhile ago. It is on consignment but I think they were looking to get around $3500 for it. I used to work at the Canadian border and I know there are many shipping companies with trucks doing the WA to AK run - maybe you can get something up there that way.
