The frames are different. You would be better off selling or trading what you have and buying a BX23S than trying to reinvent the wheel. There is no shortage of used BX23S machines on Facebook, and if you sell yours, you could probably upgrade for the difference between what you get for your old machine and what it would cost to buy a clean BX23S machine vs. trying to convert your old machine even if it were possible. At one time I believe it was Woods that was making an aftermarket backhoe unit for the older BX machines, but they were expensive and didn't work as well as a BX that came with the factory backhoe. I could have purchased a previously owned 2023 BX23S with less than 2 hours on the clock a month ago for $29,000, and it came with all the options and included a factory hard cab. That was the advertised price, and the seller was willing to negotiate. He got the machine as part of an estate purchase and wanted it gone. I bought a BXpanded backhoe quick connect from him for about 50% of the new cost and it had never been mounted on the machine. I saw the ad and saw the box with the quick hitch on the floor and asked if he wanted to sell it separately He replied "What will you give me for it and I replied $300. He accepted my offer and I picked it up the next day.
