B9200 HST alternator help

Hi all,

Please go easy on me..I entered the farm life with a partner and have had to figure out how to do it all without him and it has NOT been an easy road. I know nothing about tractors other than the absolute basics. I recently found out from a mechanic friend of mine that my alternator on my tractor is not operational...thus why I keep having battery issues. I googled to try to find a replacement and I am coming up empty handed. It has got to be that my ignorance is limiting my search too much. Can anyone help me? I don't have the expendable cash to throw $200 at something that *might* be right.

On the frame by the seat it says "Kubota Tractor B9200 HST-D" Engine model: Kubota v1200-A. On the tag on the side, it says "Model BF350 Series 11249" but it does have half the series section ripped off so I could be missing some series #s.

You have a B9200 HST tractor with a V1200-A engine and a BF350 front loader.

An aftermarket alternator AKA dynamo will run you about $90. However there is also a voltage regulator that could be the probkem. I would suggest you find someone that can determine exactly what part has failed.

There are still starter - alternator repair shops out there. If you have one locally it is probably your best bet. They can check the alternator if you bring it in and the voltage regulator as well. You might check to be certain your problem isn't just a loose alternator drive belt.

The tractor will probably have a tag on the side of the transmission or frame that has the model number B9200… and then the serial number of the tractor. You may need the serial number to get the correct parts.

Using the part numbers that @TheOldHokie provided will get you the correct parts to replace them on the tractor. Verify with your mechanic friend that he knows the right part to replace or just replace both and have it verified that your charging system has been repaired after new parts are installed.

I would recommend that you replace the belt while you’re doing the repairs since it will be mostly removed in the process and could be causing problems by slipping on the pulleys.
