I hope this question makes sense...

I have an '87 B9200HST. The 3 point hitch no longer holds tension. I took off the guide that holds the lever so that I could install a magnet to hold the hitch. The magnet works GREAT by the way! It holds the lever like it should.

However, when the guide was off, I noticed that I could lift the lever higher than the guide allowed, which lifted the 3 point hitch higher.

My 3 point hitch is completely lowered even at the 6 mark on the guide, but it can go higher than the 10 mark on the guide.

Finally the question...

Can I make some adjustments to the 3 point system to adjust when it starts engaging the lift? From 1-6 right now, it is on the ground. That leaves me with the small window of 7-10 to lift the attachment. But it still has an ability to raise higher above 10, but the guide limits the lever from traveling that high.

I have a B7200 not a B9200 but its the same. Position control lever has lost almost all tension - probably due to wear on the moving parts.

Max lift height is governed by the feedback linkage - WSM should detsil adjustment. Probably wont have much effect on starting lift position. Does the B9200 have a "special" gated position at the top of the guide? On a B7200 that puts the lift in a locked position for powering an optional remote hydraulic outlet.

Reference the tension, look at my reply in this thread, it seems to be working... https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/3-point-lever-not-staying-in-place.50162/

I'm not sure what you mean by a gated position. Our 9200 does not have remote hydraulics, so probably not.
On a B7200 the slot in the lever guide has an offset about 2" from the top. Thats the gate. You have to pull the lever to the side and then up to get past the offset and into the top of the slot. It is there on all B7200 with or without the optional outlet.

Somebody just posted about overhauling the position control valve on a B7200. New seals and orings fixed their floppy lever problem - orange pill so to speak 😃

Attached is a pic of the B7200 gated guard for the 3point. Not sure if it's the same on the B9200 though. If it is, the control levers never hold tension. I usually have to tighten it once a year. You can tell by how marked up the nut is. Next time I stop by Messciks, I plan on getting two new spring washers and applying a dab of blue locktite to the threads. Hopefully that last longer than a year.
